Love is a chemical reaction in the brain that makes your heart pound, palms sweat, and the words not come out of your mouth right. It’s something most of us will experience in life, and porn stars are no exception.

We all know that the sex we see in porn is different from the sex we have with a partner or partners. Does that make porn stars unable to fall in love? Hell no.

The men and women who make porn for studios and as content creators have the same emotional response to people that the rest of the population have. They feel lust, attraction, and attachment and form emotional connections. A skill that they have is being able to separate sex from love.

Sometimes, though, actors in the skin game can’t help but cross that line. It’s not uncommon for two porn stars to fall in love with each other or for an actor to go head over heels for a producer or director.

We’re going to look at some of the most famous porn industry romances that prove porn stars fall in love.

Jewel De’Nyle dating Peter North and marrying Michael Stefano

Jewel De’Nyle performed in over 200 pornos when she was active in the industry. She started out all the way back in 1998 and on her very first film set, she began her first porn relationship.

This was a defining moment in her illustrious career she explained to Xcritic, “[My] first movie was with Peter North and Ed Powers. I shot both those movies in the same day, and Peter North took a liking to me. He saw something in me that no one else did, he took me under his wing per se, and we started dating.”

“It was very unlike him, since he never dated anybody in the industry. So, when everybody found out I was Peter North’s girlfriend, I became an instant star.”

The relationship ended just two years later and Jewel went on to marry Michael Stefano. He was a fellow porn star and also directed films.

With him, Jewel founded PlatinumX and the pair went on to get married in 2002 get divorced just a short time later.

After leaving porn behind in the 00s, she’s back to making and selling content on her own terms and in a long-term, committed relationship to boot.

Kayden Kross and Manuel Ferrara – the power couple

On the set of her first porn shoot Kayden’s First Tme in 2006, Manuel Ferrara sat down next to Kayden Kross and introduced himself. Seems she came across as pretty aloof and after shooting, he avoided working with her for years.

In that time, Kayden was driven in her career, landing golden studio deals and becoming one of the hottest, most-awarded porn stars of her day.

Four years later, with a lot more experience and confidence under her belt, Kayden met Manuel again and the pair hit it off. So much so, that in 2013 she decided to end her porn career to make her jealous husband happy.

In a piece for the New York Times, she wrote, “Navigating love when both of our jobs involve having sex with other people can be stressful, and this especially began to bother Manuel; he would get jealous and moody in the days before my shoots. He knew it wasn’t fair to ask me to stop, but he couldn’t hide the way he felt.”

Kayden is still a mainstay of the porn industry. She’s a renowned director and even directs her husband how to fuck other porn stars on set – although she tends to leave the room when the hardcore action kicks off.

As seems to be a common theme with these porn world romances, Anikka Albrite and Mick Blue first met filming. For this couple, they were on a plane to a set in San Francisco.

Nothing happened at the time; Austrian Mick was already in a relationship. A year later, in 2013, they had a chance encounter at the AVN Awards, which are basically the Oscars of porn.

Sparks flew when Anikka found out Mick was now single and the pair got married in 2014. They both continued to perform and are still at the top of the porn game, even now.

“Being a married couple in the porn industry, we personally have benefited from porn, because we are completely open and honest and transparent with each other. We use work as a way to act out our fantasies, but at home, we love being with just each other,” Anikka explained to Cosmopolitan.  

The issue of jealousy that Kayden and Manuel had to find a solution to hasn’t reared its head for this golden couple of porn. “There is this sense of security and even though he might be having sex with someone else, I know our connection won’t be broken,” she said in an interview with Nikki Goldstein in 2016.

Not every porn star is lucky enough to find a long-term loving partner, which was sadly the case for Jenna Jameson – the Queen of Porn.

She entered the skin game in 1993 and was one of the biggest stars of the 90s with lucrative studio deals and strip gigs that netted her $8,000 per night.

Her career successes weren’t mirrored in her personal life – she married the porn actor Brad Armstrong in a union that only lasted 10 weeks. It took the pair years to get divorced, the paperwork completed in around 2001.

In the meantime, she got engaged to porn producer Jay Grdina who she went on to marry in 2003 and divorced three years later. She’s said that her best relationship was actually with female porn actress Nikki Taylor – she did have a long-term love in the middle of all the tumultuousness.
