Yes, sometimes a white porn model will get paid more to do a scene with a black man than with a white man.

There are a few different reasons for this; not all of them are that logical.

First, we should say that women get paid for penetration in porn. This is why lesbian porn pays less than penis-in-vagina porn and a gang bang will pay more than double penetration.

With that logic, some female porn performers will demand higher pay when there’s a bigger dick involved. Especially with anal, a bigger dick can take more preparation time and have a longer recovery period.

By that logic, a well-hung white man would also mean the woman had to be paid more.

Another reason is much more tied up with problematic racial stereotypes. In lots of Western cultures, interracial sex is still taboo – although mixed-race relationships are becoming more normalized.

Lots of female porn actresses get told by their old, white, male agents to avoid fucking a black man. Others get counseled to wait until further on in their careers to fuck a black man so that they can command a higher price.

All of this isn’t great; white women shouldn’t be looking for more money based on race and studios shouldn’t be putting a premium on interracial content.

Things are changing, though. Noughties porn superstar Lexington Steele said in 2013, “if you look at the individuals that are in positions of authority over some of the white females, the ones governing them are the ones implementing this practice of no interracial.”

What’s the pay for black and interracial porn scenes?

There are different rates for shooting a scene, depending on experience and how well-known you are. There shouldn’t be a difference based on race, but there does seem to be.

Mireille Miller-Young is an associate professor in the Department of Feminist Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara. Her research showed that black female porn performers were paid roughly half that of white female porn performers.

Performers in the business don’t talk about as much of a difference, but porn megastar Misty Stone did say in 2013 that she’d be getting paid $1,200 for a scene that a white counterpart would get $1,500 for.

A successful porn agent once told Business Insider that they don’t accept models asking for higher fees based on race, but have been asked for a $500 premium by models to film this type of scene.

The same report notes that a first interracial scene can bag a white porn star $2,000, compared to around $1,200 for “normal” sex.

These numbers are pretty old and it is said that the industry has changed somewhat. This could be down to demand, there has been a steady decrease in searches for “interracial porn” in the last five years.

It’s also worth noting here that this pay disparity is only for female performers. Men tend to get much less per scene, making $2-300 per day on average.

What does interracial porn look like?

There is a trend towards a hybrid in porn – interracial mixed with cuckold. This is where a man watches another man have sex with his wife.

In a random straw poll of a search for “cuckold”, of the first 26 results, 20 of them featured a black man.
