Do women enjoy big dicks?
The male preoccupation with size is evident all around is. Everything has to bigger and better all the time, penis size included. This begs the question, do women really like big penises?
There are all kinds of myths that circulate about penis size. From what the average penis looks like to how long its erection should last in bed – every man will have heard truth, lies, and watched lots of videotape to inform themselves.
Rarely do they ask women. So here at SinParty, we did. We’ve investigated the scientific studies that have been done around penis size and come to some conclusions. Let’s take a look at:
- The ideal penis size for a one-night stand
- How big a penis women expect in a relationship
- Ways to predict penis size without having a look
- Keeping a woman satisfied no matter the penis size
Obviously, we’re looking at preferences of women who enjoy sex with a penis some or all of the time. We’ll be covering the opinions of gay men on the matter in due course – keep your eyes peeled.
How big should a penis be for a one-night stand?
There has been a study that looked at exactly that. We’ll get to that in a moment, but let’s first say this – there is no such thing as an objectively perfect penis.
Every man’s junk looks different and is a different size. There’s no one overarching ideal penis – only averages when asking groups of women to give their opinion. What individual women say on the matter is entirely different.
Averages have been sought, though.
Scientists in the USA gave 75 women a pile of blue, odorless penises and asked them to choose their ideal one. When asked to choose a dick from the pile that they’d want to have a once-only encounter with, the average size that was chosen shook out at 16.3cm, or 6.4 inches long and 12.7cm or 5 inches around.
What size penis does a woman want in a relationship?
In the same study, women were asked to choose which penis they’d choose to be in a relationship with. Well, not actually have the relationship with the penis – easier and more convenient as that might be – but which penis they’d like to see on a long-term partner.
Counterintuitively maybe, the average size that these women wanted for a relationship was:
- 16cm or 6.3 inches long
- 12.2cm or 4.8 inches in girth
In a different study, both men and women were asked whether they were satisfied with the size of the penis that featured in the relationship. As much as men might think otherwise, women were generally please with their partner, with 85% of women reporting they were satisfied.
Sadly, men weren’t so confident with what’s stashed in their pants. Only 55% of men were satisfied with their dick. We’ll say it again for the blokes at the back – there’s not such thing as a perfect penis.
What’s the average penis size?
It’s all well and good knowing these numbers, but how do they measure up against the average bloke?
The apparent average penis length is 13.58cm or 5.3 inches. This varies from country to country. Remember that this is taken from data across the globe. What you’re packing in your boxer shorts is all yours and doesn’t need to be compared to anyone else’s.
Can you tell how big a dick is before you see it?
“Is that a phallic-shaped object in your pocket, or are you just pleased to see me,” said no woman ever. When a man wears pants that are tight enough, women can get a decent gauge of how big he may be – but this is rarely going to be when he’s erect; which is when women really care.
When outlines aren’t available, can you still tell how big a guy’s dick is? Back in 2011 scientists in the Asian Journal of Andrology found that there is, indeed, a link between the finger length and penis size.
They measured the length of both the ring and index fingers – the one next to the pink and the one next to the thumb. The ratio between these directly matched the length of the guy’s dick when stretched out. A big difference in length of fingers suggests a longer penis.
The same study also looked at the height of the men. Again, there was a link between how tall a guy was an the length of his penis – when it was flaccid this time. The taller a man is, the longer his floppy dick will appear.
Does penis size matter?
We’ve looked at what recent science says about female preference. What’s the deal out there in nature?
Interestingly, out of all the primates on the planet, human males have the widest penis. This is in terms of ratio – you’d hope a macaque wasn’t swinging a dick that’s a quarter of his height.
Length-wise, both chimpanzees and bonobos have 14-17cm, or 5.5-6.7-inch, penises. Their cocks taper off at the end though, meaning that human males get the title of widest penis among all the animals that look like this.
Do women actually care about this? Are ladies choosing their sexual and romantic partners based purely on penis length and girth?
Whilst the studies about absolute length show that there is a demand for long, wide cocks there is not research done alongside it to understand how important it is as a factor. Ask penis-in-vagina sex-enjoying women and they’ll generally tell you that a bigger penis can be nice but it’s the overall experience that matters. A large penis doesn’t guarantee that a woman will have an orgasm with a man. Although there are asexual people who aren’t fussed about sex, those that enjoy it usually do it with the aim of an orgasm so this is where time and effort should be pl
